I think we can all agree dressing for spring is no simple task. One day it’s sunny and 70 and the next is 30 and snowing. Come March, I’m officially over huge winter coats, overbearing scarves, and thick layers. In my opinion they’re no longer welcome anymore and I’ll do just about anything to avoid wearing them into spring. Finding a solid few spring coats that can be styled different ways will be your wardrobe hero’s for this weird in-between season stage.
Insert: 2 spring coats to inspire you for when the weather can’t seem to make up it’s mind.
The Perfect Vintage Wool Coat
I recently snagged this beautiful wool coat at a vintage store in Columbus and it immediately reminded me of something from one of my favorite brands Sezane (minus the price tag). Though hit or miss, vintage shopping is a great way to find a one-of-a-kind coat that’ll last years. The emerald green hemming and silver coin buttons add a subtle touch to step up this otherwise plain cream coat. To keep things simple I paired it with my favorite jeans, some chunky boots to edge it up, and the finishing touch – my tiny matching green purse.
The Buttery Soft Suede Trench
I’m not exaggerating when I tell you I’ve been wearing this free people suede trench every.single.day. It’s the ultimate spring coat and I’m utterly obsessed with it. We all know by now that a trench coat is forever timeless, practical, and a wardrobe essential. The best part about them? It takes zero to minimal effort to look good. Layer with a pair or trousers and a little white tee and you instantly look chic and put together. It’s light enough to wear for warmer days, yet the long silhouette is enough to keep you cozy on breezy cool days.
Styling Tip:
I sized up to ensure it was perfectly relaxed over structured and fitted. Not only does it come off as casual and cool, its practical for those days you need to layer with chunky knits.
Happy spring!
